Hi, I'm Jon. If you are currently bored, you'll enjoy this little piece on me. As far as this website is concerned, I am not the webmaster, but I can be considered any other title you can think of - including: writer, owner, producer, creator, editor, CEO, invertebrate extraordinaire... so here's the story.

On September 18, 1984, baby Jon Fouskaris was born. Yes, I bet you didn't think I was a 17-year-old. Now that it's out of the way, I can continue. I am 6' tall, 150 pounds, and check out my photo for more. For my whole life, I have been a resident of Brooklyn, NY. My background origin is: 50% Greek, 25% Italian, 25% Irish. A typical dinner at my house would be gyros with pasta on the side and an empty beer keg (just joking). My family consists of me (right), my father Michael, my mother Linda, and my sister Thea.

I enjoy many things - especially new, fun, or unusual activities. Some include: watching TV, eating, scratching, rolling out of bed, and rolling in general. No, no, no, just kidding. For real, I like going out with friends, visiting zoos and theme parks, catching bugs, playing the piano, working out, kayaking, mountain biking, and I will soon be learning the guitar and the extreme sport of mountain climbing!

I always have had a great passion for animals. I guess one must to be involved in such an extensive website on pets of any kind. I am a docent (volunteer) at the New York Aquarium, I have hundreds of animals books, and the only TV shows I never miss are "The Jeff Corwin Experience" and "The Crocodile Hunter" on Animal Planet. The reason I starting off in invertebrates was because they were the only animals that satisfied my parents in the space department.

I started off in this hobby 6 years ago, when it was hardly even considered a hobby, with a Giant Vinegaroon named "Percilla" that I received as a present from my Aunt Louise. Soon after, I created a website called Jon's Pet Arachnid & Insects to provide the information that was so hard to find back then. Nowadays, online resources are readily available to just about anybody. As I worked on Jon's Pet Arachnid & Insects, my father Michael jumped onboard. Together our hard work resulted in the creation of a bigger and better website community called Petbugs.com. Over the past few years, I have had the opportunity to help people with their problems ("bug-wise"), and in my own little way, been able to help spread the hobby around the globe. So there is a little about myself, and how this website came to be!
Enjoy petbugs.com!
